broon improved
Per request of diablahg himself. I've refreshed my photoshop skills and finally worked on something that should have been fixed long ago. Here it is....
(the creent picture is from the limbeck show, the picture with the singer. it's my favorite)
(creent had red eye in the picture.... I think I may have darkened the eyes too much. I think there's some red eye tool... but I'm not that good)

I was playing the golf on the nintendo wii the other night. I caught myself sitting and playing. That's quite lazy. Either the wii is a good work out or I'm lazy.

quarter century old
I've passed a new milestone in my life today. I have survived 25 years of life. And what did I do to commemorate my 25th year from birth...? I went to work, got frustrated at work, received entertaining voice messages, received a creative package in the mail from my momma, received a birthday card from my bishop, and ate some good pizza.(Check out this sweet bday pic with the roomies. We did not plan our outfits... (I swear, you can even ask my roommates) but we're pretty much an italian flag at an Italian restaurant. I guess it could be a Bulgarian flag too. But we were at an italian pizza joint. It was blissful. P.S. - If pizza club went to this place, I would have to say it would be pizza club approved.)

At work, I kept hearing these words: inquiry and template. They kept pronouncing them wrong. Do you say them right? They pronounced them like in-KWIRY and tem-PLATE.

pizza research
Dearest Pizza Club,
Greetings!! I have to report on my research. I have been to Chicago and back. I ate at the famous Giordano's. My photos are below. It cannot get better than the Sears Tower and Chicago deep dish together. I would like to propose that Giordano's be Pizza Club Approved.
Club, I miss you.
Yours Truly,

bottle me up
Call me weak sauce, call me a softy, call me a nalgene-user... I have given in. I purchased my first Nalgene bottle. Many years ago, when they were the big craze (people hiking around campus with them looped to their backpacks appearing as if they're conquering Everest...), I held tough. Now I have grown up and drink water at work. It just works out to have one instead of wasting cups every single day. It feels good.

more carmex please
How much do you like Carmex Lip Balm? If you visit the "Carmex store" on their website, you'll find that you can order an 8 oz. container of the amazing lip balm. I'm tempted to purchase one just to have people ask, "What is that?"
good ol' bulgarians
Today I went down to Chicago, the second largest gathering of Bulgarians (right behind Bulgaria itself). That was one exciting part of moving to Milwaukee, being so close to Chicago. I was at Costco and spotted a Bulgarian soccer jersey from a far. Lo and behold, he was bulgarian. We chatted for a bit, it was grand. I remembered how unique Bulgarians are, they all have certain traits.

vehicle refreshment
The fourth of July brought a vehicle upgrade. My Dad wanted to get rid of his little Tacoma pick-up, so he gave me a sweet deal. So I said yes. Part of the deal was to give him my Ford Contour. I don't know if I was more excited to get the sweet Tacoma or to free myself of the green Ford Contour. Here's a picture of my Mom and I, the new ride is behind us. We made the swap in Tomah, WI (half way point between Milwaukee and Minneapolis, and a really good place to swap cars...).

judge a state
I went down to Chicago today. Coming back I saw the "Wisconsin welcomes you" sign and it hit me that you can judge a state by it's sign. Which goes against "don't judge a book by its cover." When I've gone from Minnesota to Wisconsin there is the same "timber-looking"/handmade looking welcome sign... it says a lot. I think Minnesota's is very nice and professional looking... it says a lot.
By the way, when searching for these "sign pictures," I found a sweet site where a guy seems to have dedicated his life to taking pictures of "welcome" signs. This guy is a amazing, that's him pictured above. Check out his very informative site here. Google "Welcome to (enter your state here)" and judge your state today.

Who is the guy that's in charge of making flicks clean at Cleanflicks? I was watching a bit of Gladiator... cleanflicked of course and thought of this poor guy whose job is to watch violent/filthy movies all day.

utah's alcohol
It has come up in recent conversations about how ice cream is Utah's alcohol. Interesting. Also, Diet Coke/Pepsi has been placed on the "Utah alcohol" list. After living in Utah for 4 years, I think I have slowly transformed into a ice creamholic. And now I'm heading to Milwaukee, another city known for alcohol... I'll try to avoid any transforming while I'm there.

cell voice mails
I have found myself bothered by all the options you are given when reaching someone's cell phone voice mail. Why does leaving a voice message have to be so complicated? Has anyone ever sent a fax through a cell phone? The cell phone industry is wasting our time.

I pulled a Frank
I saw the movie, "Catch Me If You Can" for the first time. Wow, Frank Abagnale is a genius. And now he's a successful multi-millionaire. Um, what can we learn from this...? Though we can make really bad decisions (Over 5 years work under 8 identities and pass bad checks worth over $2.5 million in 26 countries), we can learn from it and become a success story. He now runs his own financial fraud company and helps the FBI in catching fraud. I guess when we make bad life decisions, we should just throw our hands in the air and say, "Whoops, I pulled a Frank Abagnale!" And hope that you'll use what you learned to become a multi-millionaire.

last call for beto's
I ate at Beto's tonight. I have always been a huge advocate for Beto's and the greasy-delicious burritos. I think tonight's visit was my last. Gnawing on the "mammoth mexican monster," I think I am beginning to see why so many don't like it... Sad day.
Look closely at my excitement and anticipation... I didn't have that smile afterwards. (Note: These pictures were taken on my new Canon SD1000(7.1 megapixels)...) (Note #2: the third picture is titled "The Beto's Flute")

The Dick Cheney Show
I am excited for graduation today. Dick Cheney is coming to town. I have decided it is ridiculous how people get so fired up over someone speaking. Do you remember all the protesting against Michael Moore's visit to UVSC? Some of these protesters act like they have lost their first-born. Is it that bad for some person with different political views to speak in public. Let's be open-minded and enjoy somebody else's viewpoint. I think it's good in the end that there is "opposition" present in Provo for Cheney's visit. Also, I wonder if Dick Cheney has googled his name before. That would probably ruin his day.

nice guy
I went to a fireside where Kyle Whittingham spoke. It was good. I shook his hand afterwards. I tried to talk as much trash as you could after a fireside, it wasn't much. When he spoke he said that the Church Office sent him a letter about tithing and that BYU has to win once every 10 years. After, I said I hope that tithing doesn't switch to 20%. He's a good guy. He thought that I spoke Spanish since I served in Bulgaria. I tried to make him feel better by saying people always get it mixed up...

short runway
In my attempts to plan a trip, I have learned about Princess Juliana International Airport on St. Martin island. According to wikipedia, the runway is incredibly short and the planes need to fly low to land. The beach right there is known for planes flying right over you. I also learned that there's a hobby called "plane spotting." This airports a good place for it.

youngquist = wikipedia
So I ate at Taco Bell the other day and paid with my debit card. The man behind the counter looked at my name and said, "Youngquist, that's a weird name." I should have asked what his name was. Anyway so that's what got me searching "youngquist" on wikipedia. And this is the first hit to represent. Kind of sad, maybe someday I'll make the number one spot. A new goal in life.

Breathing down my shirt...?!?
At work, that is what I said to a coworker, talking about a lady that came in to find out if something was done... Anyways, I guess I have a tendency to say cliches and put a twists on them. Who says, "Yeah, she was breathing down my shirt..."? And as I said it, I slowed down towards the latter part. You had to be there.

crying babies
Yesterday I had the chance to witness the "demonstrations" on campus. Call me a Democrat, a Republican, I don't care. Let's be logical with the situation. The following is my beef with the Anti-Cheneyites:
- In their "statement" of protest, they say, "We recognize the Board of Trustees as those holding the authority to extend invitations to Commencement speakers, and do not wish this to be misconstrued as an attack on university or church leadership." They don't want to attack the brethren, yet they are saying that the decision is awful and wrong. (For the entertaining protest purpose, click here.) Where's the line of "attacking" university or church leadership?
- Alright, these protesters are so concerned with Mr. Cheney coming on campus because of "bad choices" he has made... What if Pres. Bill Clinton was to speak at commencement? Then would they protest that he is not a moral man, and it might be bad for BYU to appear to support such actions...? No, they would welcome him with open arms, and so would I.
- (Note: this "beef" may not be as valid...) Also, many of them our proud "liberals." It's very paradoxical. What happened to BYU liberal's open-mindedness? Let him come, then criticize him. Yeah for conservative BYU liberals!

firsts on the first
Yesterday was a day full of firsts, and how fitting that it was on April 1st:
- Attended Sunday morning conference (I've been to conference before, but not the Sunday morning session, it's the "real" session.)
- My mom met a real Bulgarian for the first time. (Rumiana from Sofia.)
- Ran into "ex-girlfriends" (2) on temple square and met their new boyfriends for the first time.
- Ate spaghetti with a meat thermometer for the first time.
- Completed my taxes for the first time.(TurboTax rocks. We'll see if I did it correctly.)
- Also, I attended Waffle night for the first time.

BYU kick the Utes
BYU beat the Utes badly. Click on the link below to see me in action. With 1:33 left in the show, you can see me with my headband on in the bottom left. Also, with 2:03 left, but it's tough to see me. I'm 6 rows up from where the student seats start. It was a fun game. We had a sign that said, "Tim Hardaway hates the Utes." It didn't last too long, the usher took it from us. I was disappointed.

Dear Mr. Cougarford
I have two questions for you. Have you listened to "Loney, Dear"?
And have you been on lala.com? Since you're the only one that reads my blog, I thought I could direct posts directly to you.
Sincerely,
Bryce
P.S. - And if you are reading this and you're not Mr. Cougarford, let me know.

CCR
I was at work listening to music. Some of that music was from Creedance Clearwater Revival. I've been known to like them before, but I remembered how cool of a band they really are. Listening to them makes me want to live back in the 60s and 70s.

day in the bryce life
Yesterday was good in most ways:
- 8 'o clock class
- work
- hanging out at the career fair, met some future fellow Kohl's employees
- class
- got a girl's number (the most unsmooth attempt, yet a success)
- hometeaching
- dinner at Mac Grill with the Kohl's gang (met two guys that I'll probably room with out in Milwaukee)
- intramural floor hockey game (I had one goal and two assists; we won)
- watched the end of the BYU/Utah bball game (BYU was victorious)
- Finished up some homework
- Then stayed up late, deep in thought and talking about dating with my roommate

pizza forgot
Last night I went with a girl named, Collette, to watch "Stranger Than Fiction." I think my expectations were built up too much. It was good, but I was expecting something I didn't see. By the way, I thought that Maggie Gyllenhaal is pretty, I think it's her smile. So I was at the movie and I got a call on my mobile from Mr. Cougarford and shortly there after from Tyler, the former verizon salesman. Then I realized that I had gone on a date during Pizza Club night. It made me chuckle softly. I still love pizza, even though others may not think so. I am thankful for the pizza love that is shown. It is a tragedy...?

nba fluff
I attended the Jazz game Monday at the "Melta Center" as they battled the Minnesota Timberwolves. Attending an NBA game is always a delight; however, it is also a disappointment to see these great athletes play passionless. It seems like the playoffs are always exciting, but the regular season is weak sauce. A possible reason to the "lathargicness" is that they play 82 games in a season. For the NBA, more games = more money. There is a big difference between a college game to an NBA game. NBA is missing the vigor. It was fun to see KG wearing his new sweet shoes. Also it was fun to witness my boy, Mark Madsen, air ball a free throw.

what are you thinking?!?
Last night it really hit me. Some people keep dream journals. I, however, should keep a pre-dream journal. I think of the most random stuff right before I zonk out. Last night, I was lying in bed thinking about how harsh washers and dryers must be on clothes. Then I thought maybe I should use the "delicate" cycle more often. Who thinks about that? Apparently I do. Maybe this will become a new feature of my blog. "Random Thoughts Before R.E.M. (RTBR)" or something like that.

That's me
here is an article about the BYU game, they talked about me in a way. It's from the Daily Herald. Here's the article. Here's the quote, Darnell Dickson wrote:
"During a free throw attempt, Jerome Habel egged on the BYU crowd to get louder -- and he missed."

Habel, my new friend
This is straight from my journal about my good time on Saturday at the BYU basketball game against SDSU. BYU won 80-58. It was grand. Enjoy:
Russell and I went to the BYU b-ball game... we didn't sit in the student section but instead behind one of the hoops with all the old people. I had another epic BYU athletics event moment. NO ESPN or anything, but I had the whole student section and most of the Marriott Center looking at me at one point. Let me explain. Habel(pictured to the left), #4 for SDSU, had gone up for a dunk and got fouled. BYU's Plaisted, at the other end, had just dunked it with authority the previous possession. SO, Habel was at the line and I yelled from the my sixth row seat, "Hey #4, that was weak sauce!" Right then, he looked at me, chuckled, and shook his head. I think he made the first free throw as I was waving my arms in attempt to distract him shooting. Before the second free throw, he did something that reached a new high in reactions in result of my taunting the opposing team. At the free throw line, he looked at me and started waving his arms around imitating me... he looked like a goof. And that's when the whole student section got involved especially after he faced the students and made a "Come on" gesture. Habel missed the second free throw. A little later Habel's teammate went up to him to tell him to hold back. It was great, we got into Habel's head that game. I'd like to think that I had a part in the Cougar's trouncing.
