minnesota sports...

'09-'10 Minnesota Timberwolves: 15-67. Sad season. Quote: "The Minnesota Timberwolves remain one of the NBA's absolute worst teams."

'10 Minnesota Twins: 94-68. AL Central Champions. Great season, new stadium, but the last Yankees series was a huge disappointment.

'10 Minnesota Golden Gophers Football: 1-7, so far. This record includes a tough loss to U of SD (South Dakota), and it's official Coach Brewster is fired.

'10 Minnesota Vikings: 2-4, so far. Favre and Moss giving us hope... not looking good. Favre must be having some serious regrets. He's looking old. Recent tough loss to the Packers.

Where do I turn for joy in sports....?
'10 BYU Cougars: 3-5, so far. I can't even find joy in watching my out-of-state Cougars. They barely squeezed out 3 wins so far.

I caught myself beginning to look up my alma mater High School basketball schedule... Go Falcons!

co-op virgin no more

My latest grocery shopping trip was to my local co-op, a first for me. Thoughts:
  • I felt "hip," kind of in a cool way, but more in a hippy way
  • I should have ridden my bicycle there
  • I felt healthy just entering the place; "organic" was everywhere, that means healthy, right?
  • I felt proud to support the local economy by purchasing all these local goods (What a great battle, but what an uphill battle....)
  • I was surprised to find that you can still find good prices compared to a normal store
And maybe the biggest thought:
  • The cereal aisle just didn't do it for me. I'm a fan of healthy cereal, but walking down the aisle all I could think was "tastes like cardboard." And I'm right, it does taste like cardboard
Moral of the story: Love co-ops (healthy, support local, feel cool...); however, buy cereal elsewhere.

the award for most popular Oct 2010 talk goes to...

I wonder if General Authorities check iTunes after General Conference weekend to see how popular their talk is...
It appears that President Monson's talk from the Priesthood Session takes the prize...

PB with attitude

I bought some peanut butter. Since when did Peanut Butter start to feel so inclined to declare (bolded and boxed...) "Contains Peanut" on the jar? I like it, this jar has confidence and confidence is a good.
(Are there imposter Peanut Butters out there...? They call themselves Peanut Butter, but they do not contain Peanuts...?)
