homeless in seattle

Kraft had a job opening in Seattle. I expressed some interest and apparently they want me there so bad that they gave me an offer last week. So, I'm moving to Seattle at the end of May. Go Sounders!

Whenever you have a new chapter in life you meet new people. With this upcoming transition, I want to keep a "First Impression Journal." I want to record my first impressions of people I meet and review it later. It seems like it's always entertaining to remember what your first impressions were and whether they were dead on or way off.

forget about I heart NY...

I heart Boston. I finally got to visit Boston this past weekend for my first time. At the top of my list was to attend a Red Sox game at Fenway. It was magical. It was a highlight to sing along with all of Fenway "Sweet Caroline" before the bottom of the 8th inning.
And almost just as good, was to dance to "I'm shipping out to Boston" as Jonathan Papelbon took the mound... the crowd went crazy.

i get a kick out of it

Here's the "sibling wall shrine" at my parent's house... one of these things is not like the other...:)

The Parthenon will have to substitute for a wife and kids for the time being.

'twas the night before madness...

I feel like a little kid on the night before Christmas. ESPN Bracketologist, Joe Lunardi, picked BYU to get to the Elite 8. President Obama picked BYU to get to the Sweet 16. I just don't know...

Temple = Храм

Here's a great video about the opening of the Kyiv Ukraine Temple. Having served a mission in Bulgaria and hearing the testimonies of those youth from Eastern Europe warms my heart. Such a milestone for the LDS members in that part of the world. And it's great to see a familiar face, Ivaylo from Bulgaria.

kia's idea...?

Blake was interviewed after winning the NBA dunk contest tonight... he said he was thinking of this type of dunk for some time. Was it really his idea...? I went on to ESPN.com and noticed the front page had his dunk and a convenient ad next to it for the Kia that he jumped over. I'm on to their marketing-ways... and I'm blogging about it.

photo selection...

There's a great article in the WSJ about how "BYU is the new Duke of the West"... And they picked a great photo to represent the BYU students, front and center on their sports section... click here
And if I haven't included enough links to BYU bball and Jimmer... here's a nice compilation of all the national media

jimmer time

Below is a great clip exhibiting Jimmer's range from BYU's game last week against TCU... notice the TCU coach react on the side...

Here's a highlight reel from Jimmer's 49-point game last season at Arizona.

Here's a highlight reel from Jimmer's 47-point game this season at Utah.

And here's a good video CBS Sports made about Jimmer.

homelessness just got cheesy

Kraft did not waste any time with this turnaround story... Ted Williams' voice will be featured in Mac & Cheese ads during the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl this next Sunday... Tune in.

And here's the final product...

Two thoughts:
1. Hopefully the "cheese" won't get the best of Ted...
2. Panhandler's earnings have got to be through the roof the next couple of weeks...

props to mr. beck

John Beck is rockin' the mullet. Well done, here are some other views of this beauty. This should assist in his campaign to become the Redskin's starting QB.

61 going on 19...

Pops and I had the privilege of witnessing the Gophers take down the No. 24 Hawkeyes. The game was a grand experience, especially for our first visit to the new TCF Bank Stadium. As the game ended, there was a "rushing of the field." We joined the festivities.

Not only did we get to rush the field, but we gave players high-fives AND we got to pat Floyd of Rosedale as players hoisted it up!

Best of all, I got to see my Dad turn into a 19-year-old. He had the time of his life and it was great to witness. The picture kind of captures the moment. Look at that grin. I wish I could bottle up the experience and give it to him for Christmas.

save turkeys, eat tofu...

I've never heard about turkey adoption before. I'm glad there's people like this. So are they saying that a turkey's life is worth $30... really?

For those concerned about Turkeys this week, please visit http://www.adoptaturkey.org/.

'tis the thankful season...

Well done Thanksgiving video... and there's a great shout out to Macaroni and Cheese.

I'm grateful for the periodic feeling of success and a good song on the radio at the same time. I'm grateful for learning. I'm grateful for friends and family. I'm grateful for faith in Christ.

What are YOU grateful for?

where is funkytown?

I learned that Funkytown is a product of Minneapolis... I'm going to keep an eye out for it. I'll let you know when I find it. That claim to fame is right up there with Lee Greenwood's shout-out, "from the lakes of Minnesota." Or maybe not...

Also, a little unknown/useless fact... did you know the brand Enyce (not to be confused with 4-Slyce), is pronounced "en-ne-che." It was part of my costume for halloween, I learned the the hard way, pronouncing it like "e-nice." Silly me, Trix are for kids.
