Today I spotted the indian shooting the star... free tootsie pop, right?
If I were to put a sticker on my car, it seems like this one would be worthy.

random thought o' 4-Slyce
I was in the store and heard a beautiful ringtone from someone's cellphone. I couldn't help but wonder if there will be a "Best Ringtone Composition" category in the Grammys someday...

techno coffee
Who needs coffee when you have Sirius channel 38...? (a radio station that plays techno 24/7) This song really got me ready for the day as I drove to work at 6 in the morning last friday.

interesting political news
Ever since visiting Washington D.C. for my first time, when I hear about Obama or other political issues on the news... I've been paying more attention. I think the tour of the Capitol and seeing congress in session really did something to me.
Going up the Washington Monument reminded my a lot of the Eiffel Tower. In the picture you can see the Washington D.C. temple way back there on the horizon (above the White House and a little to the left).
The trip was great. It was a pretty complete trip; from a Nationals game to museums to a Chuck Brown concert to memorials to Colonial 1st ward to the metro to seeing friends/cousin to eating at Kabob Palace to going to the DC temple... Click here for more pics.

I needed a more uplifting post after the last post, as BYU let Lance and all of us down by losing to Florida State... Here's a great video hot of the press...

crazy colorado weekend
We did a roadtrip to Colorado to cheer on Lance Armstrong in the Leadville Trail 100 and bike on the highest paved road in North America.
We got to Leadville, CO around 1:30AM and slept in the car before the 6:30AM race.
We saw the man up close and personal. Russell even carried on a brief conversation with him... "hey lance, we drove from utah and slept in our car last night...." Lance replied, "Cool, cool. Why didn't you bring any [stinkin'] sun with you..." He smoked us on his bike going up this hill. Enjoy this lame video summing up the race (and yes, that is me trying to run along Lance 1:15 in the video):
Lance inspired us so much that we decided to bike up the highest paved road in North America...

mr. steger
While at a Subway in Ely, MN, my Dad started up a conversation with a stranger and introduced me to Will Steger (he's big time). I shook hands with this famous man. My Dad has skills of spotting famous people (this trait may be in the genes) and sometimes he just spots people that he mistakes for being famous. Dad had his A-game on this day.

stiller's all about the TdF
Check out this hilarious video from before today's stage 4. Then see Ben Stiller's post practice thoughts:
Stiller is to Lance and the Tour de France, as Jack Nicholson is to Kobe and the Lakers. After today, Lance pretty much ties for the yellow jersey after today. boo ya.

i will always smile when...
I hear this song.
Someone showed me this video on youtube a couple weeks ago. We laughed hysterically.... Then I heard it yesterday in the grocery store. It made me smile. I don't think a video like this would go over too well now days.

Who makes all these masks...? It's gotta be smart to invest in them right about now... Is 3M the main producer? Is that why their stock went from 53 to 58 in five days...? hmmmmm

cinco de moustache
Preparations for Cinco de Moustache have begun. I always cop out after 3 or 4 days of attempting to grow some "lip-tickling" facial hair. This year, I feel pretty determined. It's almost been a week and a half of growth. While brushing my teeth the last couple of nights and looking in the mirror, I have been lead to laugh out loud at the sight of my attempt to grow a moustache. More to come...

dog ice cream
I've heard about this before. I saw it with my eyes for the first time. You can find it in the frozen section at your nearest Wal-Mart supercenter.
Is this right? Is it wrong? Do dogs deserve this kind of treatment? It seems like this kind of guy would buy ice cream for his dog.

8 cents!?!
Recently I've been known to use coupons when I grocery shop. It's a new, exciting frontier.
Coupon-find o' the week: in this last Sunday's paper, there is a $1.50 off Kraft Dressing coupon, the dressing is in on rollback at Wal-Mart right now for $1.58. That comes to a grand total of 8 cents for a great bottle of dressing. Wow.

In memory of the last post...
Last night I went and saw a new favorite band, Bishop Allen. I like them thanks to Mr. Dialtron.
In the video below please notice the bass player to the left playing the xylophone... it was much enjoyable.... I don't know if you can see him too well... he rocked that xylophone... I guess you had to be there.

perplexing cheerio's riddle
I started my day with a new box of Honey Nut Cheerio's.
I was perplexed by the riddle on the front of the box... is it supposed to read, "lose weight, stop feeding America...?" or "starve yourself and help feed America...?" Such a puzzling cereal box. Maybe I should "see back for details."

I've written about the U of U bball coach before. Once again, in the paper, there was another entertaining Coach Boylen photo. He is something else.

wiener photos
The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile made a stop at the West Valley Walmart. When I started my job as a Sales Rep for Kraft, I thought I was going to be driving one of these.
It was fascinating to talk to the "hotdoggers," the official wienermobile drivers. They drive the Wienermobile for one full year, 7 days a week, they don't really have a home. The hotdogger taking my picture, kept taking pictures, so I got a photo shoot with the Wienermobile. Follow the wienermobile at the blog: http://hotdoggerblog.com/

ice cream scooper man
Here's a story:
A couple days ago, I was performing my Kraft duties in the Albertson's grocery store in Park City, UT. A man came up to me asking, "Do you guys sell ice cream scoopers?"
I replied, "Sorry, I'm not sure, I don't actually work here..." A very common statement to the "where is the...." questions I receive throughout the day as I work in different grocery stores.
This man looked very familiar. I thought, "...he's gotta be some news anchor, I swear." He was wearing a baseball cap and I couldn't recall his name. I overheard him holler to his wife and call her Arlene. With that clue, I went online to detective-google this familiar face. This is the news anchor that I couldn't help find an ice cream scooper.
I wish I would've gotten him to sign a box of Wheat Thins for me...

a first on the radio
I've never been on the radio. Yesterday was my debut. Not only did I debut, but I appeared a second time. The first time calling in I won two tickets to the AVP tour and the second time, $20 gift certificate to Nickel Mania. Thanks x96.

I was checking craigslist for some potential furniture and came across this in the free section.
I know it's good Oscar Meyer bacon (a Kraft product...), but really? How do you respond to this post? Are there Internet panhandlers out there? Everything's going digital in 2009.

best crowd in the nation
Here's some excerpts from this article:
- Wake Forest had to rally from an eight-point deficit in the second half and an entire game of deafening taunts and chants from the home fans, who were loud and rowdy throughout the night.
- "In the ACC, there's some great crowds but this one was amazing," said Jeff Teague, who led Wake Forest with 30 points, one off his career high.
- The crowd of 26,096 was the second-largest in Marriott Center history and the fans, thousands in matching white BYU T-shirts, were loud and rowdy from the time the Deacons started warming up until the game ended.
- Teague said the ACC crowds aren't as loud as what he faced Saturday.
We may not win, but we know how to cheer on our cougars. This was a great game to attend.
