I met Mumford & his sons

I've wanted to see Mumford & Sons for some time now and I finally got my chance. They did not disappoint. They put on a great performance in a sold-out Key Arena.

Here's a video from where we were standing:

And here's their great encore performance (the place went crazy at 3:09):

Before Mumford, Cage the Elephant performed. The lead singer, Matt, is really good at crowd surfing. Here's a clip of him making it all the way to us. We got to touch his sweaty head:

...Kevin Durant. What a neat story.

Here's a neat clip that captured the night:

Washington Post is showing some love

I'm not very "political" but it's fun to read about the reaction to Dallas Pastor Jeffress' recent comments about Mormonism. Some pretty strong points made in these Washington Post articles:

...this makes my day.

JFK and the Mormons

Here's a recording of JFK's speech in Salt Lake City in September 26, 1963. There may be preachers in Dallas that don't support Mormons, but JFK did.

Here's a youtube clip with a few highlights:

at least we got the WNBA..

The Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves, Wild, and Gophers may be lacking in success, but now there's a ray of hope for Minnesota sports... the Lynx have won the 2011 WNBA Championship. Yep, that's right. I'm guessing there's a huge spike in 2012 Season Tickets sales...:) I kind of want to buy a 2011 WNBA Champion T-shirt but I'm not sure if it's a women's Large or men's....

props to momma's gift

As I've been unpacking I came across my mother's Christmas gift from this past year, it's a good read for those that are looking for one. It's a "little golden book" titled, "Grandpa Bunny." My momma included a little message explaining her fond memories of this story and how it reminds her of my Grandpa... Check it out. So sweet.

jimmer made my day

It made my day when I received this email notification...

It's probably a fake Jimmer profile but I enjoyed it... I'm still planning on purchasing his NBA jersey, coming soon to a NBA store near you...

homeless in seattle

Kraft had a job opening in Seattle. I expressed some interest and apparently they want me there so bad that they gave me an offer last week. So, I'm moving to Seattle at the end of May. Go Sounders!

Whenever you have a new chapter in life you meet new people. With this upcoming transition, I want to keep a "First Impression Journal." I want to record my first impressions of people I meet and review it later. It seems like it's always entertaining to remember what your first impressions were and whether they were dead on or way off.

forget about I heart NY...

I heart Boston. I finally got to visit Boston this past weekend for my first time. At the top of my list was to attend a Red Sox game at Fenway. It was magical. It was a highlight to sing along with all of Fenway "Sweet Caroline" before the bottom of the 8th inning.
And almost just as good, was to dance to "I'm shipping out to Boston" as Jonathan Papelbon took the mound... the crowd went crazy.

i get a kick out of it

Here's the "sibling wall shrine" at my parent's house... one of these things is not like the other...:)

The Parthenon will have to substitute for a wife and kids for the time being.

'twas the night before madness...

I feel like a little kid on the night before Christmas. ESPN Bracketologist, Joe Lunardi, picked BYU to get to the Elite 8. President Obama picked BYU to get to the Sweet 16. I just don't know...

Temple = Храм

Here's a great video about the opening of the Kyiv Ukraine Temple. Having served a mission in Bulgaria and hearing the testimonies of those youth from Eastern Europe warms my heart. Such a milestone for the LDS members in that part of the world. And it's great to see a familiar face, Ivaylo from Bulgaria.

kia's idea...?

Blake was interviewed after winning the NBA dunk contest tonight... he said he was thinking of this type of dunk for some time. Was it really his idea...? I went on to ESPN.com and noticed the front page had his dunk and a convenient ad next to it for the Kia that he jumped over. I'm on to their marketing-ways... and I'm blogging about it.

photo selection...

There's a great article in the WSJ about how "BYU is the new Duke of the West"... And they picked a great photo to represent the BYU students, front and center on their sports section... click here
And if I haven't included enough links to BYU bball and Jimmer... here's a nice compilation of all the national media
